FOR COUPLES READY TO HEAL, RECONNECT & MOVE FORWARD
Marriage & Couples Intensive Retreats in Florida
When you and your partner feel stuck, distant, or worn out by the same old argument, it's hard to know where to turn. Months of weekly therapy can feel too slow, and cheap online sessions rarely reach what really matters. There's a kinder, faster way. Our intensive couples therapy retreats in Florida gives you a few focused, private days with celebrity psychotherapist Dr. Lisa Palmer at The Renew Center of Florida.

What Is a Marriage or Intensive Couples Therapy Retreat?
A couples retreat (also known as an intensive couples therapy retreat, a marriage intensive, or a marriage counseling retreat) is a private, immersive therapy experience where you and your partner spend focused, uninterrupted hours with a licensed therapist over one to several days. Rather than the once-a-week rhythm of ordinary counseling, this format compresses meaningful progress into a short, immersive window.
Unlike weekly counseling, a marriage intensive gives you more uninterrupted time to understand recurring patterns, work through difficult issues, and practice healthier ways of connecting. With 16 to 20+ hours of couples therapy, the process can go deeper without having to stop just as important conversations begin.
Our intensive couples retreats are not resort-style getaways or large group workshops. They are clinically structured, one-on-one experiences focused entirely on your relationship.

Who Should Consider a Couples Retreat In Florida?
A couples intensive is for partners who want real change and don't want to wait months to feel it. If any of the situations below sound familiar, an immersive retreat may be exactly what you need.
Communication Breakdown
When every conversation turns into the same argument, it wears you down. Maybe you've slipped into conflict avoidance, or maybe small disagreements spiral fast into something bigger. An intensive couples therapy retreat gives you the time and guidance to understand these patterns and finally break them, so you can talk to each other again without bracing for a fight.
Infidelity and Betrayal
An affair leaves deep wounds, and healing from betrayal trauma takes far more than a weekly hour. In a focused, private setting, both partners can process what happened, ask the hard questions, and begin real repair. Many couples who felt certain they could never recover find their footing again in this kind of work.
Rebuilding Trust
Broken trust has a way of resurfacing long after the first hurt. Whether it came from a lie, a betrayal, or years of small letdowns, trust rarely rebuilds in scattered weekly sessions. Concentrated time together lets you restore that sense of safety steadily, with your therapist right beside you at every step.
Intimacy and Disconnection
Over time, many couples drift into emotional and physical disconnection without ever meaning to. Desire fades and closeness quietly slips away. A retreat creates space to reconnect honestly, talk openly about desire and physical closeness, and remember what drew the two of you together in the first place.
Parenting and Life Transitions
Big changes can test even the strongest relationships. A new baby, a move, a career shift, or the daily grind of raising kids can leave you feeling more like tired teammates than partners. Our retreat helps you reconnect as a couple, rebalance an unfair share of the load, and face life's next chapter side by side.
Considering Divorce
Sometimes one or both partners simply aren't sure they want to stay. If you're weighing whether to keep trying or let go, retreat offers clarity without any pressure. You'll leave understanding your relationship and your options far more clearly, whether that means recommitting, repairing, or parting ways with peace.
A private couples retreat also suits busy Florida couples who can't commit to a weekly appointment for a year but can carve out a focused weekend to invest in their marriage.
OUR THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES
Evidence-Based Approaches Used In Our Couples Intensives
Our couples intensive therapy blends proven, research-backed approaches, weaving them together to fit your unique needs. Every marriage intensive retreat is grounded in evidence-based assessments and methods, not guesswork.
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
In your couples intensive counseling with us, EFT gives us the emotional depth that a rushed weekly hour rarely allows. Over these focused days, we help you both see the attachment needs and old fears beneath your conflicts, so you stop attacking or withdrawing and start turning toward each other. By the end, honesty feels far less frightening.
The Gottman Method
The concentrated format of a couples intensive is where the Gottman Method really shines. Instead of learning one skill a week, you and your partner practice rebuilding friendship, softening conflict, and creating shared meaning across a single immersive stretch, with us coaching you in real time. You leave with tools you'll actually use at home.
Systematic Affair Recovery Therapy (SART)
For couples coming to an intensive after infidelity, SART gives our days together a clear, compassionate structure. We guide both of you through the stages of affair recovery, making room for the hurt partner to process betrayal trauma while the two of you slowly rebuild honesty and trust. It turns overwhelming pain into manageable steps.
Discernment Counseling
Some couples arrive at our intensive unsure whether they even want to stay together, and that's completely okay. Discernment counseling shapes those few days around one goal: clarity, never pressure. Through the discernment process, we help you both understand your relationship and your part in it, so you can choose your next step with confidence.
Relational Therapy
Because a couples intensive concentrates so much time on the two of you, relational therapy fits it beautifully. Together we look honestly at the patterns, roles, and power balances you've settled into over the years, then use these focused days to build a healthier, fairer way of relating, one that holds up long after you head home.
Somatic Experiencing
Intensive days can stir up a lot, so somatic experiencing helps keep your body as settled as your conversations. Using gentle, body-based somatic interventions, we help you release stored trauma and calm your nervous system in the moment, so you stay present with each other instead of shutting down or flaring up when it matters most.
When individual trauma surfaces along the way, we also draw on trauma-informed care, EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and grounding and regulation techniques to keep you both steady and calm the reactivity cycles behind old conflicts.

YOUR JOURNEY WITH US!
What Happens During a Couples Intensive Retreat?
Every couples therapy retreat at The Renew Center of Florida follows a clear, supportive structure, so you always know what's coming next. Each of the three stages below carries equal weight in your journey toward reconnection.
Free 15-min Discovery Call with Dr. Palmer
Everything starts with a discovery call with Dr. Lisa Palmer, where you share what's happening and what you hope to change. From there, each of you completes evidence-based assessments and a private individual intake, so we understand both perspectives. Our team then builds your customized plan, treatment goals, so your intensive couples retreat is shaped around you.
Your Immersive Retreat
Days
This is the heart of the experience. Across your scheduled days, you'll spend 16 to 20+ hours in couples therapy, moving from insight to practice as you learn practical communication tools and rebuild connection in real time. Dr. Palmer and our team guide every session, keeping the work focused, safe, and steadily moving forward.
Post-Retreat Follow-Up and Integration
Your growth doesn't end when the sessions do. About three weeks later, you'll return for a post-retreat integration session, where we help you apply what you learned to everyday life and work through any sticking points. This final step locks in lasting, sustainable change, so a few powerful days become a shift that holds long after you go home.

Can An Intensive Couples Retreat Help Save a Marriage?
For many couples, yes. A marriage intensive retreat can be a genuine turning point, even for partners who feel they've tried everything. While no ethical therapist can promise a specific outcome, this immersive format has a strong track record of helping couples in crisis rediscover hope.
Across couples who complete intensive work like ours, success rates commonly fall in the 70–80% range for improved relationship satisfaction and lasting change. Couples' retreats frequently help partners leave with restored emotional connection, renewed hope, practical communication tools, and a clearer sense of how to move forward together.
For a marriage retreat for couples in crisis, the immersive setting matters. Instead of losing momentum between weekly visits, a couples therapy retreat keeps you in the healing long enough to interrupt old cycles and build something new.

What Couples Take Away From the Intensive?
Real change is the whole point, and most couples leave lighter than when they arrived. Here's what that looks like once your retreat is done.
-
A restored emotional connection and a renewed sense of hope for the two of you
-
Practical communication tools that cut through conflict instead of feeding it
-
A steadier foundation to stand on, even after betrayal or years of distance
-
The warmth and closeness that had gone quiet start to return
-
Simple skills you can put into practice the moment you get home
-
A clear, hopeful picture of where the two of you are headed next
Because the work goes deep and you practice it together in real time, these shifts tend to hold, turning a painful season into lasting change and a real lift in your relationship satisfaction.
Couples Retreats Vs. Intensive Marriage Counseling
We offer both Renew Intensive Couples Retreats and intensive marriage counseling, so you can work at the pace that suits your relationship. The difference comes down to how the time is arranged.
A couples retreat is fully immersive. You do your work across two to three consecutive days, in person in Boca Raton or virtually, allowing you to focus deeply on your relationship in one dedicated stretch. It fits couples who want to step away from daily life and give their relationship their full attention.
Intensive marriage counseling spreads that same depth over several weeks. You meet for longer, more frequent sessions than traditional therapy, with time in between to practice what you learn. It fits couples who want to maintain their routine while still moving faster than weekly counseling allows.
Both go well beyond weekly therapy, and both are led by our expert clinicians. During your discovery call with Dr. Lisa Palmer, we'll help you choose the format that fits you best.
YOUR JOURNEY WITH US!
Why Choose The Renew Center for Couples Therapy Intensive in Florida?
At The Renew Center of Florida, our couples intensives are designed for partners who want focused, private, and meaningful relationship work without stretching the process across months of weekly sessions. Each intensive is structured around your relationship, your goals, and the issues that need the most attention.
Private and Confidential Space
Your therapy intensive is centered entirely on you and your partner. Sessions are private, one-on-one, and clinically structured, creating a confidential space where difficult conversations can be addressed with greater focus and fewer outside distractions.
Led by Couples Therapist
Your intensive is guided by experienced couple therapist who specializes in couples therapy, relationship dynamics, communication, emotional connection, conflict, and trust repair. The work is tailored to the patterns and challenges affecting your relationship.
Condensed 2–3 Day Format
Instead of spreading deeper relationship work across months, our couples intensives typically take place over two to three focused days. This condensed format allows more uninterrupted time to explore recurring patterns, and work toward meaningful progress while the process remains active.
